DRiV™ Measures Passions and Motivators; Boosts Job Engagement and Performance

Leadership Worth Following (LWF), a Dallas-based leadership consulting firm, introduces a new type of personality assessment tool – the DRiV™ – designed to measure what inspires work and gives it meaning. Based on more than 50 years of research on motives and values, the DRiV identifies what people believe they should do, what they want to do, and what they actually do within a given situation. This three-pronged approach goes deeper than traditional personality assessment tools.
“Organizations can benefit from understanding everyone’s unique drivers – what people are passionate about,” explains Chris Coultas, Ph.D., LWF’s director of science and research, who helped develop the DRiV. He says this knowledge can improve leadership development, team dynamics, and talent selection. The DRiV also helps spot and address risk points that can limit career growth, hamper job satisfaction and negatively impact performance.
In taking the DRiV, users answer 185 questions on a five-point scale – from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree – and then a detailed report is generated describing the user’s DRiV Profile and a ranking of their 32 drivers. This report addresses both the upsides and downsides of each Profile and driver.
Three years of scientific research on the DRiV by LWF has validated important links to outcomes such as leadership performance, teamwork behaviors, ethical decision-making, critical thinking ability, leadership emergence, career paths and career success.
